
This was taken by Pete's colleague Derek Soall, whilst on location on Glastonbury Tor, Somerset, filming their first colour movie 'There I was Gone' This was typical of Pete's daredevil nature when he was seventeen...

Shooting took them from Walthamstow, where their studio was based, to Evercreech in Somerset, to Glastonbury Tor, where the photo with the bull was taken, to Cheddar Gorge, where Pete had to stand precariously on top of craggy hillside, and then on to Cornwall...

...where Pete got Derek and Cyril to hold his feet, whilst he hung over a high cliff to get this shot of nesting Kittywakes...

That was in 1955, when Pete was Eighteen years old. However, when he was 17, the year before, he cycled with his pal Cyril, from Walthamstow, to Weston-Super-Mare, calling into the borders of Wales, and back round the Southern coastline...

He booked into Cyclists Touring Club Hostels on the way, doing the same on the journey back, - from Weston-Super-Mare via Yeovil, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Southampton and back to Walthamstow, in one week.
