PETE'S AWARDS AND ACCOLADES

After requests from Pete's followers, we have added this page of his awards and accolades.

Here are a few of the accolades Pete Perry has been awarded over the years...

THE ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

In the Eighties, Pete earned himself recognition in several fields.

For example, His garden at 23 Sleaps Hyde Stevenage was registered as a wildlife garden, and Pete as a Wildlife Gardener with GARDENER magazine and The RNC (The Royal Society for Nature Conservation).  (see left)

 

Pete was also honoured with The HERTFORDSHIRE CONSERVATION CERIFICATE OF MERIT by the Hertfordshire Conservation Society, Hertfordshire & Middlesex Wildlife Trust and sponsors Barclays, National Power, Thames Water and British Gas, for his services to nature and conservation at his Conservation Project at 23 Sleaps Hyde, Stevenage (see right)

MUSIC

GOLD DISCS are usually associated with Rock Stars or Pop groups, but Pete Perry was recognised for his services to music, earning himself a much-coveted GOLD DISC for his charity Album 'Show The Children We Care'.The album included the title song, written and co-produced by Pete himself, with John Clpin of Bubbles Studios, Letchworth, and performed by 'Switchboard Incorporated' which consisted of Steve Charles, Lucy Sian Clark and Mandy Clark. (see Right)

Musicians from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and London also signed this certificate (left) to thank Pete for his services to music, when MOTF Switchboard finally came to an end in 1988.

But of course, it lives on in this website...

POETRY & CREATIVE WRITING

On the right is one of many Editor's Choice Awards Pete has been presented with for his poetry and creative writing. This one was for outstanding achievement from

The International Library of Poetry 1997

Pete's Poetry and short stories have appeared in many anthologies over the years, as well as in newspapers.
