Songs from THE FAMILY ALBUM in purple... others in black...
ISABELLA is only eleven years old, and yet she has an incredible voice. She was brought to our attention by Canadian Singer/Songwriter MIKE JAMES, who also wrote this song. Our review appears on The CD/Mp3 review page...
Written by Pete in 1968 as a tribute to the 'Lost Souls' and 'Misfits' in The MOTF, which Pete called 'Polaroid Bears', as they were quite negative and Pete taught them to think more postive about life. They had often turned to drink or drugs, or were heading for a life of crime, before finding a place in 'The Family' under Pete's guidance.
Pete used to say, 'don't get turned on by drugs, - get turned on by life'...
The original version, written By Pete Perry and sung by Switchboard Incorporated, this is the title track to a compilation album of the same name. Pete co-produced the recording with John Culpin of Bubbles Recording Studio, Letchworth. Pete wants this, and other MOTF songs to be re-recorded, with Pete on lead vocals, and, hopefully, with Lucy-Sian and Mandy, to include in 'The Family Album' - a collection of classic MOTF songs.
Pete & Nikki
CHRISTMAS DAY
Written by Pete Perry in 1976 for a musical he wrote, this has finally been recorded with Pete and Nikki, and Aitch providing the backing.
ISABELLA - My Time:
Written by MIKE JAMES, Isabella does a fantastic job here, with her unique voice. To make it even more amazing, - Isabella is only 11 years old!

NOBODY CARES ABOUT POLAROID BEARS
Written by Pete in 1968 as a tribute to the 'Lost Souls' and 'Misfits' in The MOTF, which Pete called 'Polaroid Bears', as they were very negative before Pete taught them to them think postive, and had often turned to drink or drugs, or were heading for a life of crime, before finding a place in 'The Family' under Pete's guidance. They were later adopted into Pete's 'Widgeripoo' books.
In this version, which is very psychedelic, Nikki sings along with Pete

LOVE LOVE LOVE
Another song performed by Oak Tree International, written by Pete with chord structures and melody by Chris Fone and further input from Carol Austin.
This version is rather different from the original, but has the same 'feel', with Nikki, double-tracked, providing the backing that Carol and Veranita used to supply.

CRYING FOR THE CHILDREN
A song written by Pete in The Eighties, for a planned environment-themed album 'The Dark Side Of The Eartrh', which, sadly, never happened. Kev Crase and Robert Kemp have given it a very distinct aura about it, which has been acclaimed by many...
OTHER SONGS..
The original title song for a charity compilation album of the same name, the whole song came to Pete Perry in a dream. He got together some local musicians, Lucy-Sian & Mandy Clark, and Steve Charles, called them 'Switchboard Incorporated' after the music mag he was publishing at the time, took them along to Bubbles Recording Studios in Letchworth, where he and John Culpin produced this song. Pete and Ray Cordell can be heard singing Frère Jacques at the end of the record, in schoolboy voices! It is Pete's daughter Deborah's favourite song.
Now Pete has re-recorded it, together with other Family songs, and with Pete on main vocals, and Mandy and her daughter Lorien supplying backing vocals...

GRANDMA'S TEA PARTY: Pete Perry and some pals from Star Now were invited to make fools of themselves for this funny video about a bunch of OAPs who have a tea party and end up with a food fight, not to mention a duel between Pete and Peter Burrows, using walking sticks instead of swords!
A GREAT SONG AND A VERY HUMOROUS VIDEO.
